JERRY PRAMPIN

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Jerry Prampin grew up in Chicago and attended DePaul University, where he earned a degree in 1998. Jerry has been with Blue Star Security since 2014 and currently holds the title of Director of Operations. He is responsible for all aspects of daily operations including compliance, insurance, hiring new employees, obtaining new business, contracts, and communication with clients. Jerry has played a key role in the growth of Blue Star Security.

KEVIN PRAMPIN

CONTROLLER

Kevin Prampin is a highly experienced professional with over 15 years in the accounting, auditing, and consulting industries. Born and raised in Chicago, he has worked with multiple Chicago-based firms, specializing in a variety of sectors including labor unions, employee benefit plans, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations across the country.

Kevin is currently the Controller at Blue Star Security, where he oversees accounting operations and is responsible for the production of internal financial statements, as well as monthly financial reporting responsibilities. With a deep understanding of the financial industry and a commitment to accuracy, Kevin brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role at Blue Star Security.

Kevin is a graduate of DePaul University, where he earned bachelor’s degrees in both finance and accounting in 2007.

JOHN FOLINO JR.

DIRECTOR OF SECURITY

John L. Folino, Jr. retired from the Chicago Police Department in 2022 after serving since 1999. After being promoted to Detective in 2005, John spent 7 years investigating homicides and officer-involved shootings. After his promotion to Sergeant in 2012, John served with the 25th Police District. Assigned to the Intelligence Counter-Terrorism Section in 2014, John led a team of officers and detectives who investigated high-profile cases involving organized crime enterprises. In 2018, he was promoted to Lieutenant and assigned to the 16th Police District. He served most recently in the Narcotics Division and retired in 2022. John has also been a television and featured film consultant for over 10 years, advising hundreds of actors in police procedure, policy and tactics. He serves as the Director of Security for Blue Star Security and oversees security for sets, locations, casts and crews. John has a MBA in Financial Fraud Examination and Management and is certified in Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management.

 

KATIE DANIELS

DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES

Katie Daniels brings extensive experience in Human Resources to her role as HR Director at Blue Star Security, a position she has held since July 2023. Before joining Blue Star Security, she served as the Human Resources Director – Chicago Market at Sodexo Live! from October 2022 to July 2023. Prior to that, Katie served as the Senior Human Resources Manager at Restaurant HR Group from January 2017 to October 2022. Her earlier roles include Business Manager at The Underground Chicago, Human Resources Coordinator at Tony’s Finer Foods, and Office Administrator/HR Intern at Rockit Ranch Productions. Katie earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Northeastern Illinois University in 2012.

RICH GUIDICE

DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Rich Guidice joined Blue Star Security as Director of Business Development in April 2024, leveraging his three decades of experience in municipal government and public safety. Previously serving as Executive Director of the City of Chicago Office of Emergency Management and Communications (OEMC), Rich oversaw a wide array of public safety programming, including dispatch operations, emergency management, and traffic management. Rich’s tenure at OEMC included spearheading planning and coordination efforts for various high-profile events, weather-related emergencies, and crises. With expertise in coordinating large-scale events such as the 2008 Inauguration Celebration for President Barack Obama and the 2012 NATO Summit, Rich brings invaluable leadership to Blue Star Security.

JAMES LASKA

COMPLIANCE SUPERVISOR

James Laska has over 30 years of experience in law enforcement. James is a retired Chicago police officer and also worked with the Cook County Sheriff’s Department for 6 years. James has been a part of the Blue Star Security team for several years and serves as our Compliance Supervisor as well as a Field Supervisor in our Special Operations Division. As Compliance Supervisor, James oversees our hiring process and ensures that all security officers involved with special operations projects are following compliance guidelines. He also acts as the primary point of contact for our clients throughout the duration of these projects.

KENNETH VARCHETTO

COMPLIANCE SUPERVISOR

Kenneth Varchetto was a Police Officer with the Chicago Police Department since 1995. Throughout his 25-year career in law enforcement, Ken has worked as a gang officer and tactical team member, and has been assigned to numerous mission teams that combatted gang, narcotic and property crimes. In January 2022, Ken retired from the Chicago Police Department and joined the administrative team at Blue Star Security where he serves as a Compliance and Special Operations Supervisor.

SAMANTHA ALNASER

HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

Samantha Alnaser currently serves as a Human Resources Generalist for Blue Star Security, bringing with her a wealth of experience from previous roles. Prior to joining Blue Star Security, Samantha held key positions at Accel Entertainment, including HR Manager and Senior Human Resources Generalist. She also served as a Supervisor at Eagle Sports Range. Samantha holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, and Operations from Governors State University. Her expertise lies in employee data management and HRIS coordination, where she excels in processing personnel transactions with efficiency and precision.

ANTHONY PASTERIS

OPERATIONS MANAGER

Anthony Pasteris brings a wealth of operational expertise to his role as Operations Manager at Blue Star Security, which he assumed in September 2023. With a diverse background in security management, Anthony previously served as Operations Manager at Kate’s Detective & Security Agency, Operations Manager at SEB Security, and Operations Executive at Special Services Tactical PPO 15563. He also gained valuable experience as Assistant Production Manager at Squad Security, Inc. in Los Angeles. Anthony’s extensive experience in security operations, coupled with his strong leadership skills, enables him to effectively oversee and optimize operational processes at Blue Star Security.

DEVIN SZYMANSKI

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE COORDINATOR

Devin Szymanski, an experienced professional in finance and customer service, has served as Accounts Receivable Coordinator for Blue Star Security since August 2023. Graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Illinois-Chicago, he holds a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in marketing, advertising, and finance. With an extensive background in the service industry, Devin has honed a polished set of interpersonal skills, enabling him to excel in his role. Committed to accuracy and efficiency, Devin ensures seamless financial transactions and maintains strong client relationships.

DEB AUGUSTYN

PAYROLL MANAGER

Deb Augustyn is a retired Chicago police officer and has been with Blue Star Security since October 2015. Deb holds an MBA and a master’s degree in Police Psychology. In 2020, Deb moved on from her position as Officer Manager and took on a new role as Payroll Manager for Blue Star Security. Deb now handles the logging of all payroll and tracks every job that Blue Star handles. Deb works with the entire office staff, the field supervisors and lends daily support to the CFO and Operations Manager in helping keep the company operations running efficiently.

DENISE ANDRIACCHI

OFFICE MANAGER

Denise Andriacchi worked as a licensed hair stylist for over 30 years before taking on a role with the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Department several years ago. Denise joined the Blue Star Security team in 2020 and serves as our Office Manager. She handles the clerical duties of the office, aids in the hiring process of new employees, and assists the Operations Manager in keeping the office running efficiently.
